This is our third year to sell fruit plants. We will carry some accessories such as irrigation supplies, ground sulfur, horticultural oil, grow tubes for grapes, and some tools. Inventories are being increased annually as demand warrants. Stock is limited in many varieties as we build customer demand for these items. Extra plants are potted up at the end of the bare root planting season, and are available during the summer and in the fall. Plants are sold in dormant condition, in most cases bare-root, and ready to plant. Please ask for instructions for how to plant a potted plant. Strawberries (Fragaria spp)- Summer varieties were selected for size, flavor, and to have a long season. Alpine strawberries are small, but included for culinary use and high flavor. Day-neutral plants beat the year they are planted, and all season long. Summer plants are listed in order of bearing. Recommend plant 10-25 of each variety. Prices are $0.50 /plant; for 100+, $0.40 /plant; and alpine, $6 /plant.
Only potted alpine and Seascape plants available after June 15. Bare root season is April 15-June 15.
Day Neutral- berries all summer, grower-friendly
Albion- a large uniform fruit and presents a distinguishable robust flavor and a rich red color. Plants of Albion have excellent disease resistance to several major soil-borne pathogens. In general, Albion is resistant to most disease and mites that plague plants of similar class and species.
Aromas- Produces large fruit on an erect, vigorous plant. Resistant to powdery mildew and spider mites.
Fern- Older variety, dependable.
Seascape- best day-neutral for NE, medium- large sweet fruit, first fruit, first month and fruit through October with protection
Summer Bearing- must grow for one season, and will bear the following summer. Fruits are usually larger-sized than the day-neutrals. Varieties chosen for size, flavor, winter hardiness, and an extended harvest season
Annapolis- early, good flavor
Wendy- wedge-shaped to conic, excellent flavor, bright red
Honeoye- early-mid, excellent flavor, large, good for the freezer
L’Amour-large berries with good flavor and freezing quality
Darselect- early-mid, very good flavor, very productive
Mesabi- mid, excellent flavor, low spray needs
Jewel- late-mid, a favorite for superb fruit quality and size
Sparkle- small to medium berries, excellent flavor and freezing
Cabot- late-mid, very large, best tasting berry
Eros- large, good for freezing and fresh
Ovation- large berries with good flavor and freezing qualities
Idea- late, sweet, mild flavor, light red color when ripe

Alexandria small, sweet, fragrant, fruit all summer

Ruby- heavy crops of red berries in September, disease and pest free
Aronia (chokeberry Aronia melanocarpa)- the highest antioxidant berry. Fruit should be processed to be palatable. Heavy yielding, decorative landscape plants. All varieties are about the same. $16

Ben Lear- early ripening, large, good production
Pilgrim- Self-fertile and hardy to -30 degrees F. Plants begin bearing 1 to 2 years after planting. Large, tasty red berries that ripen in fall.

Apples- (Malus communis)I have selected the following varieties for desirable fruit quality and disease resistance. They are mostly on M7 rootstock which gives a medium-sized tree growing to about 15 feet, and not needing staking. ¾ inch caliper trees: $20, $23 potted.
CandyCrisp- yellow, taste is similar to a pear, very sweet and juicy, disease resistant.
CrimsonCrisp- disease resistant, medium- sized, grower friendly, crisp, tart, red, stores well for 6 months in refrigerator.
Earlichief- early red delicious
Enterprise- spicy, aromatic, good storage capability.
Freedom- disease resistant, multipurpose fruit, red over yellow background color.
GoldRush- resists scab, fire blight, and mildew. Golden, sweet, crisp long keeping fruit. Pollinate with Jonafree, Enterprise or Red Fuji.
GrandGala- sweet, tart taste and firm, fine flesh in a very large, bright-red apple, resists cedar apple rust. Pollinate with Red Fuji, or others on our list.
Honeycrisp- orange-red, juicy, sweet, crisp fruit, moderate resistance to scab and fire blight. Pollinate with Redfree or Liberty.
Jonafree- Jonathan-like fruit with a bit less acid. Bred to fight fungus and insects so you spend less time maintaining it and use fewer chemicals to do so. Pollinate with GoldRush or Enterprise.
Liberty- red, yellow-fleshed apple resistant to scab, cedar apple rust, fire blight, mildew. Pollinate with Honeycrisp or Pristine.
Macoun- popular in NE, needs aggressive pruning, fruit high quality. Pollinate with mosta any other apple we offer.
Myra Fuji- a Stark Fuji selection similar to Red Fuji
Pristine- golden, early, sweet apple, good keeper, disease resistant except fire blight. Pollinate with most any other apple we offer.
Red Fuji- red, aromatic, sweet, cream-colored flesh that’s crisp and juicy. Pollinate with another apple from our list.
Redfree- red dessert apple, resistant to scab, cedar apple rust, fire blight, mildew. Pollinate with any other apple on our list.
Scarlet Surprise- Beautiful bright red flesh! Spectacular deep pink blossoms in spring followed by reddish foliage. Medium-sized, red-skinned fruit is sweet and flavorful.
SnowSweet- late season, good sugar acid balance, slow to brown
Smoothee- golden delicious, russet resistant
Zestar- early red with excellent flavor, keeps 6-8 weeks
Pears- I have chosen the most popular European (OHxF97 rootstock) Pyrus communisand Asian pears (Betufolia rootstock) Pyrus pyrifolia. The Asian pears do very well in our area, and have crispy, juicy texture. Plant two varieties of Asian, or two varieties of European pears for pollination. $22 bare root, $26 potted.

Bartlett- standard eating pear, green to yellow skin, white flesh, sweet
Buerre Bosc- russeted pear, sweet white flesh, slow growing, productive
Harrow Delight- fire blight resistant, green skin, white juicy flesh, early
Magness- Flesh is soft, juicy and almost free of grit cells. Flavor is sweet and of excellent quality. Tree is vigorous, spreading and very resistant to fire blight. Magness does not produce good pollen. Medium sized fruit. (Sold Out)
Seckel- small, one of sweetest, aromatic pears, vigorous, hardy tree (Sold Out)
Asian Pears
20th Century- yellow skin, white flesh, great flavor (sold out)
Chojuro- dark golden fruit with rum-like flavor, large fruit.
Hosui- mild flavor, juicy and sweet, thin to attain size
Nijiseiki- greenish-yellow fruit, large, flavorful, crisp.
Large Korean- (Olympic) size of grapefruit, sweet, crisp, light brown, October
Shinko- butterscotch pear, dark golden skin
Shinseiki/OHx F513 rootstock- early, yellow, little russet, medium-sized, crisp, juicy fruit, August
Yoinashi- Fruit is large, orange-brown, with a russeted finish. Yoinashi™ produces crisp, richly aromatic firm-fleshed fruit. Tree is upright and medium in vigor.
Quince- chosen for size and fragrant flavor. Self-fertile. Cydonia oblonga. $20
Aromatnaya- Russian quince, lemony, sweet, yellow skin, edible fresh
Crimea- Russian Quince, pineapple & citrus-like flavor
Smyrna- very large fruit, lemon-yellow skin

Harogem- medium-sized, orange, firm, freestone, good flavor
SweetHeart- flesh is juicy and firm with a sprightly flavor. Kernels are edible.

Kristin/Colt-semi-dwarf, very hardy, large, dark, firm, sweet fruit
Lapins/Colt- semi-dwarf, self-fertile, large, sweet cherries, one of the best
Blackgold/MM14- late blooming to avoid late frosts, frost tolerance, self-pollination, heavy crops of cherries, disease resistance, mid-season maturity and heart-shape fruit with excellent flavor that’s resistant to cracking.

Flavortop/Red Leaf- Large size, high quality yellow-fleshed.
RedGold/Lovell- very high quality late nectarine, yellow free stoned, late.
SunGlo/Lovell- yellow-fleshed, high quality mid-season
Zephyr- A white fleshed freestone nectarine ripening with Fantasia. The fruit is large and freestone with excellent flavor. The tree is vigorous, productive and moderately resistant to bacterial leaf spot.
Peach- Self-fertile. (Prunus persica) $20
Blushingstar/Red Leaf root - late-season white peach. Expect bountiful harvests of beautiful, freestone peaches from this hardy tree. They have firm, white flesh with a unique, sweet flavor.
Coralstar- large fruit, hardy tree, orange- red stripes over yellow.

Flamin Fury PF5D- large early variety, firm, few split pits, 90% red

NJF-16 Peento- golden flat shaped peach, firm flesh.
Redhaven/Lovell- the standard peach for the NE. Productive, bud-hardy.
Saturn/Lovell- donut-shaped, flat fruit, delicious flavor
Starfire- medium-sized, freestone, red over yellow, hang well on tree.
White Lady- aromatic, excellent flavor, firm, white flesh

Japanese Myro seedling rootstock (plant these two for pollination)
Pluot (plum/apricot cross) Flavor Grenade- light red- yellow
Dapple Dandy- purple over green
Duarte- Duarte plum is a large, heart-shaped, deep red fruit with a sweet blood-red flesh that is excellent for fresh eating or canning. A vigorous and hardy tree.
Early Golden- Earliest Japanese plum in production in New York. Yellow; good quality; round fruit. Ripens in mid-July. Pollenizer required.
Red Heart- Redheart is a magnificent Japanese plum with deep-red skin you open to a fine-grain, bright-red flesh. (sold out)
Shiro- yellow, sweet, juicy cling fruit.
Simka- This dark purple red plum is large and uniform. The yellow-white flesh is sweet with a firm texture.
European (plant two for pollination)
Bluebyrd- sweeter blue plums, heavy bearer, pollinate w/ Stanley, large fruit
Castleton-(sold out)
Damson- ripe in early September, tart, juicy, yellow-greenflesh
Earliblue- easiest plum tree to grow. Super hardy and those unpredictable spring frosts won't hurt it. Fruit has inviting purple-blue skin and a sweet, tempting taste.
Empress- larger, sweet, firm, European plum with beautiful color, inside and out. Tree is very strong, vigorous and productive. (Sold Out 2008)
Fortune- fruit is very large with a bright red skin on yellow background, firm-fleshed -- perhaps the very best eating of the Japanese plums. Clingstone. Does best on heavier soils. Among the most consistent croppers at Geneva.
Long John- large, long, teardrop-shaped, attractive blue plum with fruits that are freestone and very high quality. The tree is upright, spreading and somewhat willowy in growth. In taste tests this has been my favorite. Partially self-fruitful.
NY9- tree is upright and spreading; good vigor. Fruit is medium-large, freestone.
Stanley- medium-sized fruit, freestone, vigorous tree, self- fruitful.
Valor- Dark purple skin, greenish-yellow flesh. Freestone when ripe; late midseason. Very sweet. Self-fertile; very productive.
Vision- September ripening, large, sweet, excellent fresh fruit quality.
Japanese/European Hybrid
Waneta Plum- ripe early, in August or Sept. red skin, yellow flesh

Arctic Beauty- hardy to -40°. This beautiful vine loves light shade to full sun, and quickly spreads to cover an arch, trellis or garden wall. In spring, its leaves are strikingly variegated with pink, white and green. The delectable fruit is the size of large grapes, with lime-green flesh and smooth, edible skin.
